THE "FATHER OF RAW" FOOD MOVEMENT AND THE B.A.R.F. DIET
Dr. Ian has over 40 years of veterinary experience and expertise in raw whole food nutrition, he’s influenced the pet food industry with his groundbreaking work. It all started with his first and seminal book, “Give Your Dog a Bone”.
He’s lectured all over the world, challenging conventional wisdom and advocating for our pets to have a species appropriate diet that evolved over millions of years.
He’s also explored the role of nutrition in preventing and treating cancer. He created his own pet food company in Australia. He spends time in his home in New South Wales, Australia (near Sydney) with his wife Ros, and their cat “Kitty Cat”.
In addition to his work here at Billinghurst.Institute, Dr. Billinghurst writes, paint, appears on podcasts and serves full time as senior advisor to GussysGut.com, a company focused on the microbiome (gut) health of dogs, cats, and horses.
